What it does
- Open video (MP4, MOV, WebM), images (PNG, JPG, WebP) and music (MP3, M4A, WAV) by drag and drop
- Trim, split, reorder, duplicate and delete clips on a single-track timeline
- Text (caption) boxes: font, size, color, outline, position
- One background music track: trim, volume, fade in and out
- Aspect ratios 16:9, 9:16, 1:1
- Export MP4 (H.264, AAC) without watermarks, 720p or 1080p at 30 fps
- Autosave and undo, a project list, and save/open project files (.ontocut)
Files never leave your browser
- Importing, editing and exporting all happen inside this browser (WebCodecs). Videos are not uploaded to our server
- Edit state and copies of imported files stay in this browser's storage (IndexedDB, OPFS)
- To continue on another browser or computer, save a project file (.ontocut) and move it
Supported browsers
- Latest Chrome or Edge on a PC (macOS, Windows)
- Chrome on Linux may not export audio (AAC)
- Safari and Firefox open it but recommend Chrome
- Phones and tablets are not supported
Not yet
- No automatic captions (speech recognition), filters or color correction, transitions, multiple video tracks or speed control
- HEVC (H.265) MOV files recorded on phones may not open, depending on the device
- Very large files (several GB) may hit the browser's storage limit. You will then be asked to pick the original file again
